L E S S O N S

I offer lessons on either of my primary instruments: marimba or piano. While this site showcases my love for the marimba, I started out on the piano and have continued to play for over 25 years now! I have a deep love of the piano and am available to travel to your home for lessons in the Oakland Hills/Mills College area.

Study with me will include learning about the fundamentals of music theory, rhythm, scales, arpeggios, and repertoire with a little music history for the sake of context. Selections from classical repertoire will be used to develop your musicianship and broaden your musical tastes.

We will also branch out into other genres of pop, show tunes, hymns, whatever sparks your interest! It is only by being exposed to as much music as possible that you will truly grow as a musician and remain interested in learning.

For students interested in marimba, I offer lessons in my home on my 5-octave Concert Grand Marimba. I will focus on body positioning and movement (the instrument is 8 feet long!), rhythm, mallet grip and playing in a relaxed manner. If you're interested in learning more, please contact me!

I charge $55/hour for lessons in your home and $50/hour for lessons in my studio.
